A glamorous evening of James Bond music with the Vets 27 Nov 2017
This month the Squad Vets took a trip to what is becoming one of our favourite venues in recent years - the South Bank Centre - to experience an evening of James Bond music. We saw the Philharmonia Orchestra in all their glory. We had some tight time constraints but managed to listen to some fantastic music through the first half of the concert. Vets members turned out in their best and smartest outfits to match the glamour of the venue and occasion. From our seats we were able to see what's seemed like a thousand instruments being played. Songs from movies such as Zulu and Dances With Wolves as well as James Bond were played to a captivated audience. The evening was made perfect with the one and only Robert Lindsay introducing the various pieces. We don't need to tell you all about his connection to Tooting just down the road from where the Vets meet! After the first half we sat and talked about the music with a drink and then made our way back to Wimbledon Station. Although disappointed not to see the second half, all the Vets were in good spirits and said they were very interested in doing something similar again. Another ambitious Vets night in the making!
Philharmonic vs philharmonia. What is the difference? Answers on a postcard to Vets headquarters.
