Local councillors receive a warm welcome at The Squad! 09 Mar 2017

Tonight at The Squad we had a really exciting session, as two local Merton councillors received a warm welcome during a visit to the Juniors and Vets Clubs.

Katy Neep (Cabinet Member for Children's Services) and Abigail Jones (ward councillor) joined members of both clubs for the night to see first-hand the wide range of activities The Squad provides on a weekly basis.

The sessions on offer for Junior Squad members included science experiments, football training, a radio listening session, whilst the Vets welcomed an external speaker who facilitated an important session on relationships.

Squad members got very involved in all the activities on offer.  The science group were able to go home with their own homemade lava lamps, the radio group were able to listen to the show they created and the football group were able to get a better understanding of the rules of football.

It was a pleasure to welcome the two local councillors who gave us some great feedback from their visit and we hope to be able to welcome them to the clubs again soon.
