New funding gives us a big boost 03 Mar 2025
Back in last summer, we were awarded an amazing two-year grant from the Wimbledon Foundation Community Fund, totalling £35,000!
The generous funding has guaranteed we can stay in our new home (story above) and will pay for a new staff role - to help us make clubs even more fun with lots more activities for members.
Amanda Horton-Mastin, Head of the Wimbledon Foundation said “The Squad has a strong track record of delivering great work for people with learning disabilities in Wimbledon. We are particularly delighted that this grant will help them to establish a permanent home in the heart of the community and provide ongoing support for many years to come.”
Charlotte Peck, Chair of the Trustees at The Squad, said:
“We’re thrilled to have been awarded this WFCF+ grant – it really will make a huge impact on the running of our clubs and the exciting new programmes we can run – nominated by the members themselves.
“The grant funds core costs for staff and operations, and will enable us deliver even more exciting programmes alongside our brilliant members – young and older. It really is a lifeline that gives us sustainability, longevity and hope. Thank you!”
