Vets enjoy summer stroll through Morden Hall Park 15 Jun 2017
One of the Vets' favourite activities so far this term has been our evening stroll through Morden Hall Park. It was a gorgeous summer evening, with the sun just beginning to set as we gathered outside the park entrance.
As we walked into the park the hustle and bustle of Morden town centre melted away, and we found ourselves suddenly surrounded by birds, butterflies and lots of dogs out on walks!
The new boardwalk meant we could get into the heart of the wetlands area, and there was even a raised viewing platform from which we could watch the wind rushing across the reeds.
Another highlight (for some) was walking past Windsor Avenue, where The Bill was filmed.
We finished up at the William Morris pub, which enjoys a shady spot overlooking the River Wandle. There had been a lot of birthdays during the week for both members and volunteers, so we celebrated with an incredible homemade cake before everyone headed home.
